Pupil finder: Unclaimed Free School Meals Subscription

£50.00
A service for helping schools to maximise their claim for Pupil Premium funding We are introducing a new service to help schools to claim missing pupil premium funding for Free School Meals. With the introduction of free Infant meals for all, many parents have not applied for Free School Meals. For other reasons parents across different year groups do not apply for eligible Free School Meals. Many more pupils have become eligible as parent’s circumstances have changed through the Covid 19 pandemic.

Last year Haringey estimate that a minimum of 400 pupils in Haringey’s primary, secondary, special and nursery schools who were eligible for Free School Meals were not claiming.

This roughly equates to £400K of unclaimed pupil premium funds in Haringey each year.

Benefits

We are able to offer local schools this traded service offer, where we will identify additional pupils eligible for FSM. We will be seeking parent consent that within 2 weeks of being contacted they give consent for details to be shared with their child’s school.

Our service will help schools to identify and then claim missing school premium funding.

Details will be checked with the DfE Free School Meal online check system to ensure the family do still qualify.

More Details

We will charge a process fee for delivering the service.

Schools 10% of the first year of pupil premium for every child that qualifies. This is to pay for the data matching, checking and writing to the parents.

The school will continue to get the pupil premium for that child for the subsequent 5 years.

As an example (only) - it is possible that a child who is identified as a FSM pupil in Reception could generate £8130 of pupil premium for the school over 6 years. This is illustrative only.

Note If a family does choose to respond asking for their details not to be shared, then the local authority will not charge schools for the pupils concerned.

Once details of eligible pupils have been passed to the school, the school can follow up a suitable claim with the parents for a successful Free School Meal claim.
