By the end of this course delegates will:
- Have an awareness of the properties of asbestos
- Understand relevant legal legislation and where to obtain further advice and guidance
- Understand the possible health consequences caused by exposure to asbestos
- Identify some of the likely uses and locations for asbestos products in buildings
- Know how to avoid the risks from asbestos
- Explain the general emergency procedures should asbestos be discovered/disturbed
- Haringey process and procedure if asbestos is discovered and managed
- Recognise the benefits of an effective safety management system and culture
- Be able to promote the advantages of preventative and protective control measures
