- To understand your fire responsibilities
Description:
The course will cover:
- Fire Alarms (taking alarms seriously, raising the alarm, fire alarms sounding)
- Fire action notices
- Fire and rescue service response level
- Evacuation principles (escape routes, final exit door, assembly area, keeping a register, PEEPs)
- Fire fighting
- Fire doors
- Signage
- Monitoring – fire drills
- Fire alarm tests
Outcomes:
Delegates will be confident about identifying fire hazards, understanding fire prevention and fire precautions and covering the role of fire warden when required.
To enable learners to develop their awareness of fire safety in the workplace to make sure they are keeping themselves and others they work with safe at all times. It instructs people what to do in the event of an emergency and outlines simple measures they can take to control the risk of fires in the workplace.

Delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course.
It is recommended that this course is refreshed at least every three years or where a review is required.
The cost of this course is £100 per delegate (free if school buys into the ‘Health and Safety for Schools’ SLA).
Please note that non-attendance fee will be applied in full (£100) if place is not cancelled 72h in advance.
